While she's in Target recovering from a food coma.
Really not a bad place to be for an early 2000s American sedan. There's fabric inserts on the doors, there's actually some squish to the dash, and the seats are really comfy. Stereos pretty good too.
The only weird thing is a slight sticky spot at the top of the gas pedal's travel. Not even that noticeable though.
Needs an alignment I've noticed. Shakes a bit in the wheel at highway speed.
Overall, 8/10 would consider as a daily driver. With the Duratec though.

That interior reminds me a lot about my old Escape. I'm regretting selling it a bit now. and yeah, the Duratec is awesome.

is that code for that she's pooping?

Didn't it have inspection failing levels of rust?

I worded that first sentence horribly. I ate too much and didn't want to get out of the car. I have the food coma.

It certainly did, but it was repairable, too much for me to afford though. Now with it gone, I can get a better car.

If it shakes at highway speeds, that's tire balance, not alignment.

Or another one, cause it seemed like you really liked it.

ooooo an in-dash CD player! No tape though :(

I forgot to mention it pulls to the right slightly as well. Thats alignment.

She wishes it had a tape deck so she could plug her phone in with one of those tape things.

Has it had any accidents or any front end work lately? Balance can go out, but alignment shouldn't change unless you've got excessive wear on components.

I think it's been in an accident because her drivers side front fender has a "24V DOHC" badge on it and her car has thw the Vulcan motor, which is OHV.

Alignment can go out easier than you think sometimes. I've seen it get knocked slightly out due to bumping kerbs while parking and such.

That could explain things. Possible that if it was an accident, it was only cosmetically fixed, and has a slight off control arm or something else.
But who knows, someone at the factory could have been sipping the kool-aid on lunch, and thought it would be funny. I mean, how many people who honestly notice that?

Yeah, it'll be tricky, I need to pay for my own insurance now, since my mother is refusing to help me get another. She only let me buy it (with my own money) because it was owned by a family friend. I might get another or a Ranger as a work truck of sorts later on.

Reminds me of a new 2003 Z4 the BMW dealership I worked at had: "3.0" badge on one fender, "2.5" on the other. It was like that from the factory. The salespeople used to refer to it as a Z4 2.75. . .

While she's in Target recovering from a food coma.
Of course. What else would she be doing in Target?

I really need to fix that sentence. Shes in target, i has food coma.

That's the same problem I had when I borrowed my old service manager's Ford Van to go to VW school. I was pissed it had a CD player and not a tape deck.

Had a stabilizer bar ball joint that had 'states' to it. Messed with me for months before figuring it out. Not alignment (because the one state was perfect for alignment) and it wasn't balance (because all the tires were good.) Damn the mechanical gods (sometimes. Most times, bless.)

Me too actually. I had one that attached to an ipod.

Here in Mexico, we call it "Choque Marrano" which is Pigs' Collision in english. Also, I didn't know they came with column mounted shifters.

I had an 03 with the Vulcan motor. Swapped in the factory CD headunit, factory amp, removed EGR pipe and duped DPFE sensor, but by far the best thing I ever did was put in V8 SHO leather seats front and back (Direct drop in despite the generation gap).
It was like La-Z-Boy and Recaro had an illegitimate love child.

I know how to put an aux jack in with that.
